It was Ethan.The whiteboard shows the scrimmage ended in a 1 to 1 tie, so nobody scored a winning goal. Olivia's story fits the score, and Mr. Patel was seen by half the team. Ethan invented the game-winner to make it sound like he was on the field the whole time. Ethan slipped away and took the trophy.
The Scrimmage Trophy Mystery
The Riverside Rockets' championship soccer trophy disappeared from the glass case outside the locker room during Thursday practice. Coach Lin saw it in the case at 4:30 p.m. and found the case empty at 5:00. From 4:30 to 5:00, the team split into Blue and Red for a practice scrimmage, and afterward the whiteboard in the locker room read 'Blue 1, Red 1.' The next day, the trophy turned up in the equipment shed, freshly polished and wrapped in a team scarf.
