Dee screwed the cap tightly onto her empty water bottle at the top of a mountain. By the time she drove down to the beach, the bottle was crushed, and nobody touched it. Why?

The heavier air at sea level squeezed it, since the air inside was thin mountain air.
Air pressure is higher at low altitude, so it pressed in harder than the air sealed inside could push out.
